SkyBell HD and Alarm.com Launch Distribution Partnership, Add SkyBell HD to Alarm.com’s smart home security platform

Alarm.com’s adds smart entry to its security and automation platform with the Alarm.com Wi-Fi Doorbell Camera – SkyBell HD Edition.

We created SkyBell with the vision to make homes and neighborhoods safer by shaping what home security looks like in a “smart” world. Today, we are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Alarm.com that will help further that mission in a big way.

Alarm.com will be adding the patented SkyBell HD video doorbell to the Alarm.com platform – giving subscribers the ability to monitor and answer their front door remotely.

Alarm.com’s Dealer Partners will soon be able to offer the Alarm.com Wi-Fi Doorbell Camera – SkyBell HD Edition to their customers. This marks the first time the SkyBell HD will be fully integrated outside the SkyBell HD app. Users can view live video and control the SkyBell HD – and even unlock the door – from the Alarm.com app. They can also use the Alarm.com Rules Engine to create automated triggers and actions, such as turning on a light when motion is detected by the SkyBell HD.

“We are committed to giving customers every possible way to build the smart home security solutions they want,” said Andrew Thomas, co-founder of SkyBell and head of Business Development and Partnerships. “Alarm.com subscribers can expect a truly innovative integration with the SkyBell HD – combining the convenience and control of a video doorbell with the reliability and interoperability they expect from Alarm.com.”

SkyBell Connect API Program
This is another big victory and milestone for the SkyBell Connect API program. SkyBell Connect is a robust API program that allows partners to receive triggers and send commands to SkyBell HD – at any time. This is possible thanks to an advanced power management system that allows our Wi-Fi to be “always on.”

Alarm.com joins a growing list of segment leading companies that are utilizing the SkyBell Connect API platform. Click the link to see a full list of SkyBell Connect API partners.

Full Video Integration
Our integration with Alarm.com is the first time a 3rd party partner will show live video from SkyBell HD outside of the SkyBell app – resulting in a seamless user experience within the Alarm.com app. This is the deepest integration to date and required significant development efforts from both engineering teams. The result is a testament to both teams’ dedication and collaboration.
