CES News: New Product and Google Home

The goal for SkyBell is to consistently find ways to improve the lives of our customers while also adding a level of security that makes homes and neighborhoods safer. We’re excited to announce two new ways that SkyBell is continuing to live out that mission.

Today, we’re announcing our latest product, The SkyBell Plug-in Camera, and that we have a new product integration with the Google Home platform.

SkyBell Plug-in Camera

We are excited to add a new product to the SkyBell lineup: the SkyBell Plug-in Camera. The Plug-in is a fun product because it gives customers the ability to use it in so many ways. The easy installation of a wall plug means you can quickly add video monitoring anywhere – in seconds. The button on the front means people can engage the camera itself, instead of relying only on the motion sensor or the mobile-user to start the video stream.

Here’s how we see so many people using and benefitting from SkyBell Plug-in.

Senior care

We received strong feedback that SkyBell Plug-in is the perfect tool for adult children to keep a loving eye on their senior parents. You can receive alerts when the parent is moving around to make sure they’re active. The parent can also press the button to communicate with the adult children instead of using a phone. It’s an easy and fun way to stay connected.

We’ve never met a parent that didn’t want to stay connected with their kids during the day. More than just a nanny-cam, SkyBell Plug-in gives a child the ability to press the button so they can talk to mommy or daddy directly. Parents can also drop in on their kids with the On-demand feature. Parents love this application.

Of course, SkyBell Plug-in is a great tool for augmenting your smart home security. You can quickly and elegantly achieve more monitoring in your kitchen, living room, garage, backyard and other living spaces without ugly wires or without battery solutions that are limited in their functionality and require battery changes. It also works with the SkyBell doorbells.

The Plug-in will have the same cloud-functionality as SkyBell HD and Trim Plus. Expect to see it sold on SkyBell.com in early Q1.

Google Home

Google Home is one of the most exciting platforms in the Smart Home and we are thrilled to add SkyBell to the Works with Google Home platform. Now SkyBell and Google Home customers can take advantage of Google Home’s voice commands to trigger their SkyBell to take a photo, record video and to turn the silent mode on or off.

We are excited to be part of the Google Home platform.
